This is a project from the Woodturning Wizardry publication. It is a lidded box inside turned inside an open weaved basket. There are no joins in this piece. It was created from a solid block of wood that has been turned to a perfect 62mm ball. I made all the tools for this project and the most challenging was the gouge to allow me to turn and hollow the lidded box inside the cage. The lid can be lifted off. The timbers are Sheoak and Jarrah. Basket is 62mm in diameter. Height on the stand is 140mm.Jewellery stand. Jarrah.Small spinning top.
